Our client required external window re-decoration on a penthouse flat in Kendal. As a number of the windows are located 4 storeys up directly above the River Kent on one aspect and above the busy road on the other, the use of scaffold or cherry picker were not viable options. In addition slate repairs were required on the roof above having an apex height of 28 metres and restricted by the same conventional access issues. We were tasked with finding an access solution and carrying out all of the necessary remedial works.
Our initial site assessment concluded that there were no suitable anchor points on the building from which we could safely rig ropes and with no desire to install an expensive permanent access system we had to employ all of our skills and experience to install a complex rigging system to the pyramid hip roof. This rigging afforded us safe work positioning on all aspects from which to redecorate the windows, access all roof pitches for necessary slate repairs and leave traffic flow on the road below unrestricted.
